Calgary fire chiefs and police go toe-to-toe for charity

A well-known Calgary fundraiser was forced to change things up this year, so organizers got creative with their flagship event Sunday. The sixth annual Wellspring Calgary Stair Climbing Challenge held its Challenge the Chief competition inside a gym for the first time ever.


Saskatoon Fire Department to order closure of City Centre Inn and Suites

A hotel in Saskatoon’s north downtown is being ordered to close down all or a portion of its business. On Wednesday, the Saskatoon Fire Department said the City Centre Inn and Suites, formerly known as the Northwoods Inn and Suites, was being served with a notice to close because of unsafe and unsanitary living conditions.


View Royal chief frustrated by Thetis Lake accidents

Another critical injury at Thetis Lake in British Columbia has View Royal Fire Chief Paul Hurst calling for change – again. Around 5 p.m. Wednesday evening the fire department was called to the cliff area of Thetis Lake for reports of an unconscious young male individual found in the water.
