Wide-scale adoption of GFSI-benchmarking requirements within food safety schemes, including those operated by BRCGS FSSC22000, SQF, and IFS, has led to an increased focus on key aspects of food hygiene. However, non-conformances related to equipment and facility hygiene still rank highly in GFSI scheme audit findings. In the first 10 months of auditing against BRCGS Issue 9, four of the top five non-conformances were related to these issues.
