Canada’s ag industry adds 800 jobs for youth in the 2020-21 year

Approximately 800 new positions are expected to be created through the Youth Employment and Skills Program for the 2020/2021 program year. In May, the cost-share employment program received $9.2 million in additional funding to attract Canadian youth.


Members announced for Canada’s first-ever Agricultural Youth Council

From more than 800 applications, 25 young people were selected to form Canada’s first Agricultural Youth Council. They represent all sectors, provinces, and will have an opportunity to inform Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s priorities.


Always in Season project highlights opportunities to support agriculture and local food

The Ontario Federation of Agriculture’s Always in Season project aims to increase local food sales, provide new opportunities for local producers for value-added agriculture, and enhance agri-tourism and culinary tourism opportunities.
