The 2025 National Building Code has been published and provinces across the country will be adopting it into their codes over the next two or three years. Tiered energy-efficiency requirements, new solar heat gain measures and updated accessibility rules are in there. Meanwhile, development is ongoing on the various AAMA and CSA standards the codes reference. All these things will affect the way we design, manufacture and install glazed facades.

Amy Roberts from the Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance will return to bring Top Glass attendees up to speed on the latest changes to architectural glass standards and commercial building codes across the country. Attendees will hear the latest from the committees publishing the AAMA standards referenced in all the codes and pick out significant developments in codes from jurisdictions from St. John’s to Victoria. Roberts will share forecasting and insights from inside the meetings and organizations involved in writing the rules for the years ahead.

Top Glass, Canada's trade event for the architectural glass industry, happens April 30 at the International Centre in Mississauga, Ont.
