Cannabis sector can access $40B COVID-19 credit program: official

Devastated bars and lounges as well as the country's hard-hit cannabis sector will have access to $40 billion in new credit being made available via the government's business bank during the COVID-19 crisis, its CEO said on April 5. Applicants must go through their own banks to access the program.


Cannabis stores no longer ‘essential’ in Ontario

Cannabis shops, which had initially been deemed an essential business, have been cut from the revised list with only the province’s online sales portal remaining open. The new business closures, which took effect on Saturday, April 4 at 11:59 p.m. and will be in effect for at least 14 days, include all industrial construction sites except for those on projects considered critical.
