The one-day General Aviation Expo is designed to provide General Aviation pilots and aircraft owners, as well as flying enthusiasts and aspiring aviators, with access to leading suppliers and organizations of the sector, showcasing their newest technologies and services under one roof. Taking place in September, the event is also designed to help pilots prepare for next year’s flying season with networking, education and products.

Educational content begins with a two-hour Transport Canada Aviation Safety Seminar (topic to be determined), presented by Steve McLeod, Standards Coordinator, Airworthiness, Civil Aviation. Attendance at this seminar is eligible for the recurrent pilot training credit. Space is limited. In the afternoon, Transport Canada will also host an Up close and Interactive session focused on a range of topics like medicals, ADS-B (Class B and C), unifying Canadian and American GA operations, human factors and more.

Greg Wyght, Senior Vice President, Aviation, Marsh Canada, will also lead a session called What You’re Buying to Keep You Flying: Navigating Aviation Insurance. Wyght is a career pilot (ATPL-H) and former head of flight operations for a large GA operator, and the founder of the Transport Canada Safety Award winning CHC Safety & Quality Summit. He will unpack in a scenario-based discussion many of the challenging risk management issues facing the GA world today.
