Ben Normand is a fish farmer, writer, college instructor, and cheerleader for aquaculture. He has worked with various fin and shellfish species in New Zealand and Canada in production management, compliance, and communications. In the role of Category Manager Sustainable Ingredients, Annette Berntsen scouts, develops, and introduces sustainable ingredients into Nutreco's global markets. She is strategically, economically, and operationally assessing new products and technologies coming to market and preparing strong business cases to ensure market adoption. With the strong push for sustainability in all our markets her responsibility is also be to ensure we connect our ingredient suppliers with our customers and develop value chain partnerships that deliver both nutritional and sustainability performance.
Gareth Butterfield is the commercial director at ReelData Inc., an AI technology provider for the aquaculture industry. Prior to 2024, Gareth worked within the aqua nutrition space for over 15 years with the Cargill-EWOS group holding various technical, commercial, and business development roles across Scotland, Europe, and North America. He has a vast background in feed formulation and nutritional requirements of farmed fish species, with the majority of his career focused on salmon and other salmonids.
Wendy Sealey has been a nutritionist with the USDA's Agricultural Research Service (ARS) since 2021 and held a similar position with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, also in Bozeman, Montana for 11 years prior. Prior to her 15 years of federal service, Wendy was adjunct professor at the University of Idaho, Hagerman Fish Culture Experiment Station (2003-2009) where she conducted research in rainbow trout, catfish, tilapia, sturgeon, and tropical fish. To date, she has 24-years post-Ph.D. experience leading projects across the U.S. and internationally, serving as academic faculty, federal researcher, outreach professional, and non-profit and industry consultant, to formulate sustainable nutrition and fish health strategies for aquaculture.
