Take a proactive and preventative approach to de-escalation with a new microlearning course, available now for free for a limited time.

The Public Services Health and Safety Association (PSHSA) has launched a new course designed to build de-escalation prevention and awareness skills to reduce the risk of escalated behaviours in everyday interactions with clients, customers, and the public.

Escalated Behaviours: Prevention Through Awareness eLearning

Within three interactive microlearning modules and an estimated completion time of just 45 minutes, you’ll learn about:
  • How stress and trauma can change how a person thinks, feels, and reacts
  • Early warning signs of escalated behaviour
  • A person-centered approach that incorporates empathy, sympathy, and effective, calm communication strategies
  • Proactive de-escalation techniques such as active listening and non-threatening body language
  • The influence of stigma, bias, and communication barriers in shaping responses
The course is currently being offered completely free for a limited time only, so if you or your workers have regular interactions with the public, now is the time to register!
