The movement of old crop has been quicker than expected, but Canadian growers are in a good position to continue the rest of the growing season, according to the July 23 crop update by the United Potato Growers of Canada. Potato acreage in P.E.I. might be lower than reported by Statistics Canada, but most provinces are in agreement about the potato acreage estimates.
