Take your pit to the next level as Quarry Tech comes to Kanata, Ontario on February 7th.

At this year’s Quarry Tech event on Feb. 7 in Kanata, Ontario, keynote speaker William Gowdy will share examples of progressive reclamation projects and discuss its increasing importance.

While aggregate operations are, in most jurisdictions, legislated to have a reclamation plan, for many companies the process is also an important part of its social licence to operate.

A reclamation, when properly planned and conducted, can lead to considerable cost savings for companies while also improving their relationship with the community.

Gowdy is a geologist with 35 years of experience in the aggregate, geology, mining, reclamation, and exploration fields throughout Canada and overseas (USA, Indonesia, South Africa, Mexico and Panama).

He has been involved in all facets of aggregate assessment, environmental monitoring, reclamation and in securing regulatory approvals. He has also provided input to municipal and provincial governments on planning and regulatory issues associated with gravel, in addition to stakeholder engagement and education of the public on aggregate.

Quarry Tech is a one-day workshop presented by Rock to Road, focusing on the latest technologies and strategies for optimizing your quarry and pit operations. Quarry Tech will feature case studies and speaker sessions presented by industry experts covering a wide variety of topics, all aimed at quarry and pit owners and operators.
