Despite major progress towards equity for women in the Canadian workforce, a critical issue remains: the gender health gap reflects disparities in how health concerns are addressed for working women.
In an effort to better understand – and close – the gap, Sun Life partnered with research firm Ipsos to survey more than 1,400 employed Canadian women, aged 18 or over, between Jan. 23 and Jan. 31, 2024. In addition, through the Ipsos Conversations Community, a digital qualitative platform, 30 women participants completed a set of questions individually between Jan. 19 and Jan. 26, 2024.
The survey revealed several insights surrounding how women view health, what Canadian women’s top health concerns are, shortfalls surrounding health coverage and understanding what benefits would be helpful.
