Funding for Quebec Living Laboratories Initiative announced

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada recently announced $4.2 million in investments to establish the Living Laboratories Initiative in Quebec’s Saint Pierre Lake region, in collaboration with the Union des producteurs agricoles.


Syngenta launches new insecticide in select countries

Syngenta recently unveiled Spiropidion, a new insecticide that will protect crops against sucking pests while not affecting pollinators. There is currently no launch plan for Spiropidion in North America.

Research continues on pulse root rots

Root rot is a concern in the pea-growing areas of Western Canada and can cause significant yield loss. Syama Chatterton, a research scientist in plant pathology, led research to assess the ability of Fusarium species pathogens to cause root rot disease in pea, and to evaluate which crops/varieties can be infected by Fusarium species, and which can be included in rotation to reduce infection loads. » Learn more
