Canadian pulse growers have forever been in a cat-and-mouse game with pulse diseases, which tend to develop resistance to fungicide active ingredients quicker than the diseases of other major crops.
Historically, Groups 3, 7 and 11 have been the only options for disease management on the market. With continuous use there is a growing concern that the current actives may become less effective.
For that reason, the need for a new, effective mode of action against pulse disease was clear. While integrated disease management practices remain crucial, pulse growers need new fungicide actives as tools to protect their valuable crops.
