CONTROL GRASSHOPPERS THIS SEASON – HERE'S HELP!
Summer is here, and with it, economically damaging grasshoppers. Based on last season’s high populations, there are still many eggs waiting to hatch. In fact, locations across the Prairies are already reporting significant feeding damage to emerging crops.
To prepare for this pest, check out this podcast where James Tansey, an entomologist with the Government of Saskatchewan, and Rachel Evans, Technical Sales Manager for the eastern Prairies with FMC Canada, talk about how weather affects grasshopper populations, which species damage crops and the best ways to deal with them.

What to expect after applying
Coragen® MaX insecticide is unique in how it controls insects so it’s important to understand what you’re seeing in terms of control symptoms.
Here are a few tips:
- Insects will ingest Coragen® MaX insecticide via treated plant material and feeding will STOP in as little as 7 minutes as the insects become lethargic.
- During early scouting after application, living insects will be detected, however little or no feeding activity should be observed.
- Depending on insect stage and environmental conditions, complete death of the insects may take up to a few days. Feeding will have stopped, and no further crop damage should be observed.
