Sometimes research creates more questions than answers. University of Manitoba graduate student Megan Bourns’ research on soybean response to potassium (K) fertilizer showed a lack of yield response. Bourns and her supervisor, Don Flaten, conducted 20 site-years of on-farm, small plot, and comparative trials with barley to find K fertilization had little to no effect on soybeans.
