Million Air CEO, Roger Woolsey, along with several members of the Million Air Maintenance team, undertook the ambitious task of flying the twin-engine light bomber transatlantic to Normandy for the anniversary of D-Day. The journey, which took approximately 80 hours of airtime, started from Houston and included stops in Greenland, Iceland, and Scotland before finally landing in Normandy.
This Invader was originally manufactured by Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach, CA, in 1944. It served with distinction in Europe with the 9th Air Force during the Battle of the Bulge, played a crucial role during the later stages of WWII and saw action during the Korean War.
The Million Air maintenance team dedicated countless hours to restoring the bomber, ensuring it was airworthy and ready for its historic journey. This project is a testament to Million Air's commitment to preserving aviation history and honoring the legacy of those who served.
