The annual Careers in Aviation Expo program is set to take place on May 4, 2024, in Ottawa, Ont., at Porter Airlines’ new hangar with the goal of connecting aspiring aviators, graduating students and young professionals with leading organizations from the aviation and aerospace sectors. Early-bird pricing is now available for attendees and limited space remains for exhibitors. The program is designed to provide insight into a range of fixed-wing and rotary-wing aviation careers, including, but not limited to: Pilots, Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, Air Traffic Controllers, airport and airline operations, aerospace engineering and design, and flight services. This year’s presentations are headlined by Billie Flynn, a Senior Experimental Test Pilot (Fellow) and former RCAF Combat Commander.

The annual Top 20 Under 40 program, organized by Wings and Helicopters, is now open for online nominations with a submission deadline of May 31, 2024. The Top 20 Under 40 program is designed to recognize individuals demonstrating leadership, innovation, influence, achievement and dedication in Canadian aviation and aerospace. Help us recognize and celebrate the outstanding contributions of young leaders who are helping to drive the position of Canadian aviation and aerospace.

Vote for your favourite Fixed Base Operator in the 2024 edition of Canada’s Top FBO program. Voting in the annual survey program continues until July 10, 2024. The survey results also provide the program with the Top Three FBOs by region and the country’s Rising Star, recognizing one operation that received the highest number of votes, year over year, among all others. The survey also asks questions to discover what FBO and aircraft attributes matter most customers.

The inaugural Canadian General Aviation Expo, organized by Wings and Helicopters, is set to take place on September 7, 2024, at the Holiday Inn Burlington Hotel & Conference Centre. The one-day event is designed to provide General Aviation pilots and aircraft owners, as well as flying enthusiasts and aspiring aviators, with access to leading suppliers and organizations of the sector, showcasing their newest technologies and services under one roof. Taking place in September, the event is also designed to help pilots prepare for next year’s flying season with networking, education and products.

The Canadian Wildfire Conference is set for October 17, 2024, at the KF Aerospace Centre for Excellence in Kelowna, BC. With easy access through Kelowna’s international airport, the one-day event features sector-leading suppliers displaying and discussing new technologies and services alongside an educational program designed to unite air and ground personnel. The conference agenda includes a range of presentations from industry leaders to provide air and ground crews and commanders with critical information on the challenges and trends facing wildfire suppression today.
