For three months the air transport industry has struggled through the biggest crisis in its history. Most countries have tabled aviation specific financial aid packages to ensure that their aviation industries will be there and able to help with the recovery.
We need a program that would make liquidity available, not more debt, so that fixed costs can be met during this period of drastically reduced activity. Financial aid in the form of not forcing carriers to reimburse passengers is not what most operators need. We are in dire need of a champion in Government.
